We are adapting to a lot of heat this summer, along with regular solar flares so it is important to follow a pitta reducing diet, stay out of the sun during peak periods, do a cooling breath called ‘satali’ regularly and balance your nervous system with regular meditation, sound healing and yoga nidra. This month I have added a post on “How to Enhance Your Sleep Patterns”
We are also feeling the fire within us because astrologically Mercury is retrograde in Leo (until August 11). Kari Samuels says it is the month of passion, play but you want to be careful not to burn yourself out.” Last month was the time to let-go with many planets changing signs. This means more opportunity for transformation.
With August numerology, this is an 8 universal month that teaches the true meaning of abundance, energy, giving & receiving and regeneration. The number 8 is about energy, our prana and it expands your heart energy. This means opening your heart up to your passions and abundance.
We all go through cycles so it teaches us about regeneration – ups and down. As we know, the one constant is ‘change’. So, it may feel a bit larger than life this month. It is about taking space and expressing your feelings in a balanced way, not repressing them.
What to do to stay balanced? It is important to play, be joyful in what you are doing and to pursue your passion – what really lights you up .And this month is the time to allow yourself to be seen and be authentic.
And because we are in a 9 universal year, we continue to take time for inner reflection, rest and getting enough sleep.
One very helpful thing to do during these hot nights of summer is “Yoga Nidra for Sleep”.( See link below). Try doing it every night before bedtime for a week and see how it not only helps you sleep better but your whole nervous system feels more relaxed and you feel more calm and centered.

If you haven’t tried Satali Breathing take a look at this post on my website today. You can feel cooler and calmer in just 3 minutes doing this powerful breath to lower the heat in your body.
And, stay cool and safe with your sun hat, sunscreen lotion and good water intake.
And, last but not least, learn more about sound made visible by the Cymascope, invented by John Stuart Reid, Sonic Acoustic Scientist, Inventor.
His experiments in the Great Pyramid in Egyptt are very remarkable, bringing permanent healing of chronic pain.
