The Birth of Healing Resonances

                           &

I returned to my love of music and sound in 2001 with the teachings of Berdhanya Swami Tierra
and began weaving sound and music with “Heart Sounds Yoga: Children & Family Yoga
Program.” I observed how children could find their natural voices spontaneously. For example,
one boy, 4 years of age, responded to my toning of a singing bowl by breaking out into beautiful
voice toning.

Special needs children really benefit with sound healing e.g. mantras, music, voice toning that helps them to self-regulate, be calm and focused.

The yoga kids also learned uplifting yoga songs from Radiant Child Yoga.

A creative music project helped me go deeper with my voice, composing simple songs which
resulted in making a music CD of Yoga Sing-Along Songs for Children called ‘Shining Rainbow
Hands’ (services page). This CD was an act of loving cooperation between musicians, a gifted
child, sound engineer, graphic designer and artist.

Jeremy Sills, a very gifted musician – a multi-instrumentalist, introduced me to the ‘resonance of
singing bowls’ with his sound concerts and healing meditations in Ottawa. I began collecting
and using my own bowls with yoga classes.

And the RESONANCES JOURNEY has come naturally through my own
personal journey and being introduced to many sound experts who are bringing ‘Frequency
Medicine’ into main stream health with the possibility of each person taking self-responsibility
to heal naturally.

I want to help you find your voice and breath!

About Your Teacher

I am a Meditation, Breath Work and Sound Work Teacher.  Working with the breath and sound takes me back to my youth, with a natural love and inclination for music. My journey has been to discover the power of healing with resonance and to share this with others who want to heal naturally.

I have been inspired by the teachings of Berdhanya Swami Tierra for many years with her holistic studies and practice of Hatha & Swara yoga with healing mantras, meditation, shamanism and energy healing.

More recently, my passion has been heightened by sound explorers, sound experts in sonic science, inter-dimensional musicians and voice coaches in discovering one’s true voice. The new energy (frequency) medicine is becoming prominent for natural healing. Here are two examples.

I completed “Explore the Secrets of Sonic Science & Cymatics, Musical Medicine for Radiant Healing” with John Stuart Reid, Acoustic Scientist, Inventor, 2022.

‘Sing the Voice Electric’ with Brothers’ Koren and Eileen McKusick, 2024, an uplifting and fun sound toning course to embody one’s true voice.

I love to create classes that incorporate the energy of sound with yoga, meditation and breath work knowing that everything in the universe is made of resonance from the atomic level to the cosmic level; we are sharing our natural, unique resonance in every moment.

Some highlights include supporting Berdhanya Swami Tierra as the Founding Director of Club Yoga, a family yoga program (certified yoga teacher, level 1 & 2), a non-profit organization with the Bioenergetics Institute (2001-2005) and teaching yoga to families, children, teens (Encounters with Canada), adults and senior adults for over 20 years.

Testimonials

“On behalf of the participants that have joined in one or more of the various workshops that have been offered, we want to thank Anamda Sly for offering her breath work services at Carlington Community Health Centre.

Of those that participated, many have said that they found the practice and the oppurtunity to learn about breath work to be helpful for their emotional health, that they have noticed positive changes in their physical health and that they have been or plan to continue using it in their daily lives. Many have said that the oppurtunity to focus on their breath and to use their breath as a tool for supporting their wellbeing is something they had not known about or considered in the past.

It is important to note that while breathing exercises are sometimes taught in therapeutic relationships, that the practice of breathwork, belly breathing and other forms of breath practice are not as formally utilized.

With Anamdas support, this oppurtunity was realized.”

For Breath & Sound Work
“We enrolled our family in Anamda’s healing sounds yoga class seeking strategies to support our son’s self-regulation. The techniques Anamda shared, including specific breathing exercises and engaging yoga searching activities, along with the soothing sounds and gentle meditation, have proven invaluable. We’ve witnessed a significant positive change in our son’s ability to find calm, particularly in the evenings before sleep. Anamda’s patient and attentive manner created a supportive learning environment, and her focus on our child’s individual needs was deeply appreciated.”

The Belonging in Bayshore program hosted Amanda Sly, a Meditation, Breath Work & Sound Work Teacher from Healing Resonances, for a series of workshops over nine months.

Amanda’s skills made each session valuable. We started with a friendly welcome and learned ways to release emotional blockages using different breathing techniques. Her clear guidance helped us connect more deeply with our breath.

This journey helped us discover more about ourselves and provided useful tools for emotional awareness and healing. I strongly recommend these workshops to anyone wanting to unlock their potential.
